I wasn't referring to you as a fuddy duddy...
I did wonder.
Unfortunately yes, I basically trashed my box with my home brew tuning mods, and the synergy.
My FL1 was pretty quick too, well is was until the box went pop.
I could accelerate hard enough up an 18% hill, with 1.6 tons of trailer on the back, for it to select 4 gears, and lock the TC clutch in 4th too. Unfortunately when it locked the TC in 4th while I was flat out, there was a grinding noise as the clutch engaged, after which it shuddered when locking. :(

Andy has also just changed his TC, as his started shuddering when it engaged, and his is still in standard tune, so these auto boxes don't take much to trash them.

Ghetto decat, tuning box, home-brew straight through...That's definitely not fuddy duddyness on the previous vehicle.
I call it tuning on a shoestring. ;)

I'm considering getting ghetto on my engine, if I cannae get a good seal with injector cutter & new copper washers, I'm going to get ghetto AF on it. Gungum.

Thanks.

Was hoping to get some 1st hand feedback on people who had remapped them. When you Google it, there seems to be lots of 'generic' mappers like Celtic tuning. Who seem to claim to remap every vehicle under the Sun. Not saying they can't, but you know the saying, if it sounds too good....

I know people who have had remaps from Alive tuning, but not on an FL1. They don't even list them :( I did email and ask. But got no reply.

Basically I was hoping not to be a path finder and that a few people might say. I got this remap 5 years ago and been really pleased with it. Just like all the Td6 L322 owners, despite the gearbox issues they have.

I'm not afraid of tuning or mods. In fact most of the vehicles I own or have owned are modded....
A member on here set up JC Tuning to do remaps on Freelander. He doesn't come on the forum that much these days but he's still doing remaps.

If you search for jc tuning or jctuning you'll find references to his remaps.

Thanks, found them. No mention of Freelanders on their website, but I'll shoot them an email. Such a pity they are so friggin far away from me. Happens with everything, despite living in the heavily populated home counties. Absolutely every bloody thing you want to buy or go too is hundreds of sodding miles away. Never anything local!

lol, everything is relative - virtually all my parts have to be shipped 12,000 miles from UK.

Used to take a week, haven't ordered anything since Covid, but I bet it takes a lot longer and costs a lot more to get it here now.

I've just ordered some bits from Oz for our Citroen, they're taking roughly a month from Oz to the UK

Can't like that!

I can't understand why everything is so broke in the shipping world. I understand there are less passenger jets flying at the moment, but surely they can be repurposed for freight - its been 2 years. Why sea freight is so fecked simply bemuses me. My daughter handles export for her company, and she is having all sorts of problems getting containers and slots of ships to carry them.

maybe ask .. https://www.bellengineering.co.uk ..... ?
there's no re-mapping on their site ..
but they might know of suitable re-mapping in your area

I was at Bell Engineering last week. Drive-in replacement VCU...

Didn't look like the sort of place for mapping and modding though. But happy to be corrected. They were still a long way away too, about 100 miles door to door.
