Td4-how does self priming fuel system work?

H guys

Can anyone explain how the self priming fuel system works?

Simple enough, Lp pump/s supplies fuel to the Hp pump and rail and excess is returned to the supply line via a relief valve.

Wouldn't you be better posting a single thread with your problem rather than so many separate threads?

What happens to any air in the system?

I'm chasing my tail now, trying to get my head around all the different systems.
It's back in the garage tomorrow, will see what they can get from the ecu-hopefully some error codes.

Any air ends up in the return line. What's the problem???

yeah blue i'm with chaser on this one....why don't you grab a coffee, take a deep breath and start a new thread listing yoiur problems and what you've tried so far...from what i've read it sounds like you've got fuel/battery/maf/egr/glowplug/women/money/drink problems to name but a few lol get it all down in one place so the guru's like chaser can work their magic.....

think you're right chaser.......... just wondering if he's cleaned the fuel rail sensor connections....
