Freelander 1 Td4 Fuel Pump Fault

Hi all.
Swapped in-tank fuel pump (2002 Td4)
...but its still not priming.

Considering getting the multimeter on the connectors of loom, to see if its getting power from ignition.
Is that do-able? ...what am I looking for?
/Any other suggestions as to what it may be?

This is normally one of the first steps, to save changing a good pump . Also check fuse and relay (engine bay fusebox).

To check at the connector, set meter to DC volts, 20 volt range, and check battery voltage is available between one of the wires and chassis ground when the ignition is turned on. The initial prime is usually 30 seconds or so.

How are you checking the tank pump is priming? If you're checking fuel flow at the HP pump, then are you sure the engine bay pump is also running?
