Td4 Freelander

Hello all,

Im new to the forum and Im looking to buy a Freelander TD4 5 door 2001 to 2003.

I was wondering could someone help on what to look for (known problems etc,) on buying a second hand freelander Td4. I have never owned a 4x4 before, but like the look of this vehicle and I have heard that the engine is good, the bmw engine I think starts on the 2000 model but not sure.

Any info on this vehicle much appreciated, what to look out for etc?

Ignore him^^^ he is just sore, ciz his don't like water . Go for a post 2001 model. TD4 isthe one Yu want if it's not for serious offroading.

The best place to start would be to use the third tab from the left above which can be found using your eyes and can help with most buying questions.

Wife had an 03 plate TD4 for 5 years from new, good enough motor apart from the 2 new injectors at £750 from main dealer.

No not for serious off roading.. but I do live in the Countryside of France, lots of tracks and lots of mud etc.
Left hand drive prices are ridiculous here so will be coming over to uk to get a right hander and bring back to france.
