when i turn steering wheel when stationary there is a clunking sound that comes from the n/s front, this is not as loud when the car is in motion.Any help on this problem would be very appreciated .thanks.

Also the top mounts maybe. My O/S one would make a substantial clunk/boing when turning the wheel from one direction to the other. More noticeable when stationary.

Yeah your probably right makes a bit of sense when I think about it. Can the bearing be re greased or is a second hand strut the order of the day.

If it is the top mount you'll probably need a new one. It's a strut out and spring off job. I paid £24 I think for a new mount from Advanced Factors. The one that came out was pretty rusty. I think probably because it's underneath the header tank (which had cracked at the top like they do and therefore leaked a bit).

Had the same problem and took it to my Landy dealer, who quickly replied that it was the bearings on the top of the suspension. got them replaced and no more clunk on the turn. might want to check them and see if they are worn, mine had no grease and ceased bearings.
