Right guys
I have a TD4 engine complete with head that needs a bit of work. The car its out of had 128K on the clock and was 04 plate, had oil changed at least twice a year, and ran smooth as a nut.
The problem occurred when the oil filter O ring popped out of the housing that wasn't fully closed resulting in oil starvation. The engine cut out at that time but afterward after refilling did still run (that is, it was NOT seized) albeit with a rattle. However the Big end was checked and it's not at fault, possibly the small end or conrods.
So the engine is ideal for a full or partial recondition. It is just the main block and head as the external bits were swapped onto the replacement engine.
Any takers before I take it down to the local scrappie? I have a trailer so I can travel but anyone local to northwest WILTSHIRE is preferred.
