I have a leak on my thermostat where the coolant rail mates with the stat housing. I've been putting off sorting it for quite some time now given the hassle involved in replacing the stat. I'm pretty sure that replacing the o ring will solve it but I was wondering if the o ring can be replaced without removing the stat?
I can't get on Rave at the moment as it's on an old duff hard drive and my netbook doesn't have enough space to install it on! Can anyone advise if it's possible to disconnect the coolant rail and extricate the end far enough from the stat to change the o ring, whilst the stat is in situ?
*edit* Just found the thread by @tlo here. Can the rail easily be moved (without damage) to get the o ring on?
