Hi, anyone fitted any? BMW on m47 318d says in ETK there is a kit for that...
Just wondering if anyone ever fitted.

An AGM is just a long life lead acid battery. AGM stands for Absorbative Glass Mat. So basically there's a glass fiber mat between the lead plates which reduces gassing and so increases capacity for a given volume. You can fit an AGM of a suitable size, but it's not really much of an advantage on a vehicle without stop / start.

Indeed, is just that I have a deal around for a cheap one brand new and I am thinking about it.
Thanks Nodge68
If it physically fits and the terminals are orientated correctly, and the price is good, then I can't see why you'd have a problem with an AGM. I have 2 X 120 AH AGM batteries in my workshop solar power system. They work the same as the flooded lead acid batteries they replaced. I'm just expecting a longer life from the AGM, than I got with the standard lead acid batteries.
