TD4, 2001, 5 door

Hi all, I know there is a lot of threads about the rear door on these beasts but I cannot find one that has the same problem as me.......

My tail door opens and shuts normally but the window does not move. In order to open and shut the door I have to manually tuck the glass under the seal as the door shuts. The car alarm sets fine - no beeps etc. the window wont work with key/button or door latch. Simply wont budge. Have replaced the door latch and window regulator/motor mechanism (all second hand parts I admit) to no avail. Oddly, when going through test sequence, it gets stuck on the window operation and wont go any further .... until I leant on the rear door handle whilst someone cycled through the sequence...then I got the rear wiper to move for the first time in ages....but only whilst I was leaning on it. I'm thinking maybe a loose connection in the actual handle as that is the only bit I haven't replaced.

Any help appreciated...need to sell this car and can't whilst its not working!!

Does sound like a loose connection which I'm be pretty sure would have been the case in similar instances
















Petrol and matches wont actually help but maybe the best course of action

How much is it insured for ?

Ok, thanks for the advice. Will try taking the handle off and having a look inside.

Or a fuse? No idea which one though.
