Hi all. I'm finally picking up a discovery 200tdi engine next week to convert the existing 2.5N/A.
The conversion has been covered many times of course, but all the threads I've looked at describe cutting the chassis to lower the radiator height. I have a galvanised Richards chassis, which is supposed to be suitable for the 2.5 and 200tdi and don't want to cut it.
The engine does not come with a rad, so I'll have to buy a new rad frame/radiator/intercooler.
My question is, if I buy a new radiator frame for a defender, will I be able to avoid cutting the chassis?

Yes. The rad is the same just a different frame so if you get a defender frame (good luck) you're in business. Also, you can reduce the height of the brackets on the bottom of the disco frame.

The two brackets are a different height on a 2.5 to compared to a tdi.Tthe actual frame dimensions are the same for defenders and discoverys it's the top bracket positioning that differs.
