tc light

hi there ive noticed that the amber tc light is coming on and when i touch the brake pedal it goes off is this normal and what does the tc light mean?

TC is Traction Control, it's what makes the freelander so capable even to a complete novice, when you get wheel spin it operates the brake on the spinning wheel to apply torque to the wheel with traction so that you make progress where you would normally be left spinning a wheel (or 2 on a 4wd), so when you apply the brake yo stop all the wheels including the spinning one, so under what circumstances is it coming on?? Just coming on by itself randomly, or are you driving on snow/ice/some other slippy surface, or is it Just not extingushing at startup/bulb check?

Also, what is it? 1.8, L series doozel, TD4, V6?? Age??

its a 2006 2.0 td4 and it comes on randomly

ABS/wheel speed sensors then, check they are seated correctly. If you do a search for abs sensor or wheel sensors or 3 amigos it should give you some more info.
