Hi all foes a 99 td5 have t.c on it as no light on dash and how does the diff lock work without the lever in the cab as only got high and low on transfer box:confused:

All D2s have TC. If there is no light, then it has been disabled - perhaps to hide a fault. Do the ABS and Hill descent (HDC) lights come on with the ignition?

Not all D2s had the diff lock lever, although your model year will have the mechanism in the transfer box. You just need to fit the right kind of lever - one from a D1 can be modified to fit, or there are a couple of people supplying after market levers. Or you could go genuine.

Short answer - the difflock doesn't work! ;) The TC - if THAT works - takes care of sending the power to where it's needed.

As srtgray says - your year of D2 will have the difflock still in the transfer box, with just a spigot sticking out the top. In an emergency (losing a propshaft or axle differential and hence losing ALL drive!) the spigot can be turned with a 10mm open ended spanner to lock it, which means you can get home in 2wd on metalled roads i.e tarmac (assuming you're not stuck in mud etc.)

How much are the conversion are they on ebay only had this car 3 weeks got all these faults getting a vibe noise from drive line sounds like a balance noise or something like that
