Jaguar Land Rover’s profit reached 238.1 million pounds in the 3rd quarter 2010, compared with a loss of 60.4 million pounds a year earlier, Tata said.

Just thought you would all like to know that:D

Obviously from spare part sales and diagnostic checks.:D:D:D

I drove a new 4.4 tdv8 today. Amazing, it returned 30 mph around town. How do they do that? Makes the 2.5 td seem ridiculous. But probably fairly good when it came out.

british made by british workers and turning a profit. good to see! just proves how crap brit management must be. but i already knew that. ;)

Nowt to do with British management. More to do with that if it was British owned they would be paying more tax. Maybe the Indians have some sort of benifit scam going as usual.

Most of British industrial management (and Banking for that matter) is crap. You only have to look at the debacle that was the British motorcycle industry as well as the motor industry, mining, Sheffielfd steel. All gone, mostly due to bad management aided and abetted by the unions. You can add the London docks and many others to the list.:(

i'm not sure wammers you could be right but it was owned by germans and then the yanks for a bit. why would the british govt offer a tax incentive to the indians to take it off the americans? just to keep it in britian? maybe. as i said, i'm not sure. however as i've also said, tata is actually one of the few companies that i respect. thoroughly professional outfit and fanatical about transparent management systems. more importantly they've a history and pedigree of their own so they understand the value of that in the companies they buy. i'd even say they look for it. unlike when the malaysians bought lotus and tried to integrate it as a division inside proton - quite obviously that was never going to work. i bet tata were pretty confident that moving LR to asia and offering rich texans a tandoori rangey made in madras was not going to do too well!!
