Tapping noise from rhs engine

Ive just noticed a tapping noise coming from the front of the rh bank.

Sounds like a tappet tapping away, and is related to engine speed.

Its definately only from the front (number 2) cylinder.

Any ideas?? Tappet in need of adjustment?? Worn

The Rover V8 has hydraulic adjusters, sounds like one of the sixteen id dead or dying. Is it worse when cold? It's an easy job to do, inlet manifold off and rocker gear off,no need to take the heads off. They're only a couple of quid each but you need sixteen and if you choose to do the job soak them in clean engine oil at least overnight before installing.

if it is in the rocker cover then it is proberly a worn rocker arm
