Tappety sound when reving and screaching

Hi guys,

My disco 2004 Td5 has a tapping noise!
It's quiet on tick over but when i rev it it makes a tapping noise increasing with the revs, (not ticking)
It seems accelerator related so when accelerating it does it, although if i lift the accelerator even at speed it stops as the revs fall.
Any ideas please?

Secondly when i heavily accelerate my engine makes a screeching noise at about 2500 revs
Any ideas on this?

Hi,

The screech could well be your exhaust manifold.

They warp and then get a bit noisy.
