Series 3 Tappets - Inlet gap different from Exhaust?

Seasons greetings one and all,
Today I decided to check the tappet gaps and try out the Ford method (2 on the rock) rather than the rule of 9, I found a video from Rimmer Bro's that explains this but also talks about inlet valves being a smaller gap than the exhaust ( due to the exhaust getting hotter, expanding and closing the gap) 0.010 & 0.025

Has anyone else done this?
Or do you feel the general advice that both should be 0.010 sufficient?

both are 10 thou in the book,i cant see a reason to differ from that

10 thou is all I have ever done.

If you think about it, the heat of combustion would affect the inlet valves too, so why have different gap settings.

Inlet valve stem is getting cooled by air mix every breath it takes whereas exhaust stem is getting heated every time it opens.
But have also always used the same feeler gauge on exhaust as inlet on all engines I have worked on.
The best solution is probably to set them with the engine warm.
