if its different since you have done tappets id start there ,what makes you think of injectors ?

As long as it's running well now, that's a lesson learnt, no damage done. 10 year old injectors could/should still be fine.

Can't hurt to service them. When I bought my ex-MOD truck the injectors were horrid. A good service and cleaning did them wonders. i eventually replaced them (worn pintles) but the service did make a significant difference.

dont strip injectors unless you have the means to reset crack off pressure

No. He means don't take them apart. Take them out and clean them by all means, use new washers when putting them back in. If you take them apart, you will disturb the pressure at which they open to release fuel into the cylinder, which is bad.

turn engine till a valve starts to go down , then carefully carry on turning till that valve is fully down, ()if you feel youve gone too far go on to the next valve)from front of engine count back to fully open valve, if no 4 is fully down set 5 if no 3 is fully down set 6 , the 2 numbers add up to 9, no 8 fully down set 1
