Tank breather hose cracking

I found the black flexible tank breather pipe to be cracked for about 150 mm along from the union to the valved swan neck and had split from the plastic swan neck at the crimped union.
A temporary fix with a bit of smallbore copper pipe has sufficed meanwhile as I intend to fit higher breather lines but am concerned that the perishing of this pipe after only two years is not going to happen to similer pipes elsewhere on the vehicle.
The failure is above the tail of the exhaust pipe and I have spent quite a bit of time ticking over to keep heater on and batteries topped up. The heat may have assisted the degradation of the pipe?
Any one have experience of this 'defect'

Me and my friend bought a land rovers 2010 ( old stock ) few weeks ago. Both had the same cracked breather hoses. I think its a overtightened hose clamps doing it.

Gonna fix it the same way as you. Temporary fixed with a bicycle tube and a tape.

Mine was bent weirdly and cracked and replaced under extended warranty last week, along with other bit and bobs. 2011, 110, 2.4
