Hi new owner and member,
Firstly thanks for solving crankcase breather issue, thought I'd blown something expensive What a relief to find £10 fix.
Could somebody tell me if there's a replacement system for tailgate window actuator. Cable system seems a bit 18th century. Was hoping some genius had come up with a replacement system maybe hydraulic lifting rams or similar. Cheers gsworks

Nooo, replacement item is identical in every way save the fact it works, and yours doesn't, peeps have been able to fix with new cable, from bike shops etc, but I found broken plastic as well as broken cable when I replaced mine!

Cheers freelance worth asking, seeing as bmw came up with such a simple fix for crankcase blower, I'd hoped it might be a common enough problem for someone to have redisgned it. Cheers gsworks

you have to replace the wires properly anything else will not do also if it does not locate properly then the heater on it will not work and neither will the wiper.just buy a set already done after that it is simples

Ive replaced mine with cable off freebay - easy to install - still cant get it to work - thinks its up when open and visa versa = wipers/heater works when window open - anybody know how to fix?

My rear window made a horrible noise whe it went down the other day.
Can anyone reccomend a repair kit that they know works, I have read the cheap ones dont fit very well.

Was going to get wire kit as actuator is in good nick but ive heard they are a bit of a nightmare to fit (quotes of up to a day to fit seem to be average). Is it worth taking off door and taking it into a nice warm house to do? Cheers (fare weather mechanic)

Sounds better, only took 5mins to dismantle it so was a bit confused why people are talking of a full days work to re fit. Cable had snapped and wrapped up inside actuator, will I need to reset or calibrate when I fit new cable? Not sure what position it thinks it's in as was knackered when I bought it. Bottom cable had snapped and coiled up inside, top cable was fully extended out of actuator.

Cool im assuming that window thinks its up so does that mean I need to wind cable in or leave out. Again im assuming that its either both ends of cable in or out and not one in one out, if u get what I mean.
