Hi All,
I'm struggling with this. I've tried all the suggestions, which are great by the way, and nothing seems to be working. Still beeping and the motor is going on the window but it doesn't seem to want to drop. I've tried disconnecting the battery for 30 secs as well at 10 mins but get the same result.
Any other suggestions?????
Steve

I had troubles with the rear window not dropping, and thus rear door not opening, as I use mine to carry logs and equipment too and from our woods it was an important item to fix, but rather than fix, I've took the easy option and bodged

1st, take a dent puller/suction cups and with my weight pulling down on glass whilst wife pressed switch, we got the glass down enough to open the rear door, and I left it like that for a few months, door glass was simply outside of the channel, door closed ok, but small leak if it ever rained, a few weeks ago the winder wires snapped, letting the glass come down fully, so Ive set it back in so its around 1mm under the plastic strip, shuts much better now and locks, but you get a beep when locking, as car thinks the window is open, but its no big deal, and no leaks, I then ran a bead of silicone sealant each side at bottom of window to save it dropping, sorted, it'll do

Hi there. I have a fault with my 2004 TD4 5-door tailgate window. The glass dropped due to a cable snap so I bought a repair kit via Ebay. Yesterday I replaced the cables (with the help of a mechanic friend). This seemed very straightforward, although it took some time to centre and level the glass. On re-connecting the battery, the window dropped, then I put it up via the dash switch. All seemed fine until I tried to open the tailgate. When I operate the door latch, the door releases, but the window doesn't drop. If I pull the window down using my hands and open the tailgate, when I close the tailgate, the window rises as normal. The window operates via the dash switch (but the one touch drop no longer functions). The wiper/delisted work, the car locks on the fob with no problem.

I've searched this (and other) forums, but can't locate a thread with this set of symptoms.

Can anyone suggest what I do next?
When you set the window with the door open, shouldn't it be set up so the top of the window is below the level of the plastic trim on the vehicle which it goes under? Just a thought.

I expect the OP has now sorted the problem, being that it was 3 1/2 years ago ;)

My window didn’t drop on our used TD4.

Changed the cables for a new one as I thought they might be slack. The actuator seemed to fire, the runners moved and the window could be pushed down by hand; but didn’t actually drop enough to open the tailgate door. It didn’t work.

the bought a full replacement kit, with motor c£100 from Ebay. 30 mins to replace, 40 mins to align. Finally, it works :)
