Hi Folks I’ve a bit of a problem with the tailgate release. It works from the fob but not from the boot switch. So I replaced the boot switch as there is a known problem there. If I have the tailgate open and I trigger the boot release it works. But when the boot is closed it won’t open. It opens from the fob without a problem though. Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

The only thing I can think of is there could be damaged wiring where the harness goes between the roof an boot, although it'll be difficult to prove.

Try twisting the wiring round a bit where it is next to the hinge see if you can track it down exactly. Should be a brown 0.5mm wire that goes to the Central Electronics module.

Problem solved and testament to my inexperience first level unlock doesn’t let the tailgate switch to work except, if it is already open. Swapping out the switch works perfectly. Thanks for your help.

Ah, you've got single point entry active. That'll be the cause. I've set mine to global unlock, as I can't be doing with messing about pressing buttons twice.

It’s a good setting for wimmins. M set ours like that. I quite often have to knock on the window for her to let me in:eek:.
It does annoy me but I live with the reason for M:).

It's not something we need to worry about down this way.
When we go up country, I set drive away locking on whatever vehicle we use, just for a bit of added security. :)
