Hi all. I am plesed to report 1000 miles without a problem on the Rangie now :) (almost). It hasn't broken down or blown a gasket anyway! But just as I am getting used to trouble free working the Tailgate Open warning is coming up and bleeps annoyingly every time I pull away. Slamming the tailgate shut works until I go over any small bump in the road and off it goes again. Stopping every few hundred meters was becomming VERY annoying. Also you can't scroll through any of the information displays when the Tailgate Open warning shows up. I suspect it might be controlled by some sort of micro switch in the tailgate but can any of you shed any light on this before I take everything apart to have a look? Cheers Guys!

Karl.

I have now been able to investigate the above problem and it turned out to be a loose corroded connection in the lower half of the tailgate just next to the center lock mechanism. It was particularly easy to fix and normal running has rusumed in the rangie. Happy days! (Corrossion in a Landrover! Who'd have thought of that!?)

karl, glad you,ve found the prob and put it to sleep, and if thats your only problem in 1000 miles you,ve bought a good un there mate.happy motoring
