Tailgate Latch

Hi

The Tailgate Latch has just gone

should I go for used or new

I am thinking new as there should be some warranty with the new part, and I could spend £50+

quid on a used part and have the same problems

Can some one tell me where is the cheapest place to go for a new part

There is a known issue and fix for the Disco back door, but I don't know whether it applies here.

Could you describe the problem in more detail? I might have some good news for you.

The issue I'm referring to is the exterior latch on the rear door jamming in the up position.

To resolve this all you need to do is remove the oval LR badge on the plastic latch cover. This gives you access to the mechanism - spray in aerosol white grease or similar (not WD-40) and then prise the handle back down with a flat bladed screwdriver and work the latch up and down a few times.

Once it's free, slap a good dollop of lithium grease on the mechanism and replace the badge.

Hi All

The problem is with the central locking I locked the car at night and in the morning the rear door wouldn’t open, I have sprayed every think in wd40 and had it out of the door to check it and give it a good clean. When I put it back on it wont lock I think I will have to buy a new one
