tailgate button locks doors

Hi guys discovered a problem with the tailgate release button on my p38
when I press the button the doors lock.now it don't do it every time and its not really a problem. but one day I will leave the key in the ignition go to open the boot and bollox locked out, probably with the engine running.
Any ideas?

IIRC the tailgate button is a simple earth loop from the drivers door.

If its locking all the doors then most likely the problem is in the drivers door and not the tailgate button.
