Well lads,
Ive noticed over the last few days, a slightly worrying sound coming from my 110 td5 (with traction control). As a short bit of background to the situation, we have a very steep hill up to the house and over the last few weeks its been pretty icy, and to say the least ive been very impressed with the defenders ability to climb up and down the hill at ease, all seemed to work as expected, abs and traction control doing their jobs to slow the landy going don the hill and whatever, so no complaints there but since the ice has completely thawed ive noticed that when climbing the hill the traction control tries to compensate for a slippery surface that no longer exists?!? im not a mechanic but after some study of the previous threads about this sort of thing, it would appear to be acting as if the diff lock is stuck on (even though no light is on and the lever is not engaged) and as i climb the hill and turn (the hill turns) the t/c seems to try compensate for the slippage caused by the diff lock, causing an odd whining noise..... so do we think im on the right line of thought? any help would be great, and if anyone could put a finger on the culprit it would be great!
thanks.
