I have fitted a Synergy 2a to my 2002, TD4 and the difference is amazing.
The Synergy was purchased from a Landyzone member and came complete with Pierburg MAF and the 3 position dash switch.
The original Bosch MAF was replaced with the Pierburg but I decided not to use the dash switch but fit a pushbutton (Latching) switch with built in LED that I already had lying about. I ordered the bare loom and interface (Minus the switch) from RoverRon's site and it arrived this morning.
I can see that the interface has two "Hard wired" leads...One is the Jack plug lead to the Synergy main unit and the other is red & black cables for a 12v(+) and 0v(-) supply.

The switch that I have has 5 terminals marked:
12v(+) = LED supply
0v(-) = LED supply
**Common = Switch contact feed
Normally Closed = switch contacts NOT MADE with pushbutton depressed
**Normally Open = switch contacts MADE with pushbutton depressed.

**According to their website, only two wires are used when a pushbutton switch is used and these are Common and Normally Open if the "Power" function on the Synergy is activated when the pushbutton is depressed.

There are two multi plugs supplied, a 2 pin and a 3 pin which have to be soldered to the switch wires.....The 2 pin is for the contacts and the 3 pin is for the LED but only two pins are used, one pin is spare.

Has anyone wired their own switch and knows the pinouts.

I am fitting the switch into the blanking plate fitted on the opposite side to the headlamp height adjuster switch on the lower instrument cowl. A 16mm dia. switch just fits a treat after drilling a 16mm hole in the blank.

My synergy switch is a three position switch so three maps can effectively be selected. How are you going to use a single push button switch to get the third map or are you not going to bother?

I realise that I will lose the additional features of the toggle switch but to be honest, I can live with just selecting the two options relating to the particular setting on the main unit and at the moment I am over the moon with the extra performance that no. 7 (Pierburg MAF fitted) gives. At the end of the day, it's not too inconvenient to open the bonnet and change the setting.
I want to see how the mpg turns out over a tankful of diesel per setting prior to having a play. I have read a previous post on the mpg versus the settings .
Prior to fitting the Synergy I have been getting around 37mpg + and that is with the aircon on most of the time the past couple of months plus living in N. Wales with quite a few hills and twisting roads !!

I now have the pinouts for the switch-they are:
2 pin connector=switch contacts
3 pin connector=LED 0v(-) pin next to 2pin connector
" " " = " 12v(+) adjacent pin
*3rd pin is not used (Spare)
