synergy 2

hi all yesterday i was given a synergy 2 just the box. my question is can i just plug it into my td4 it has the standed maf, bosch i think or will i need the pierburgh maf may thanks oh and happy new year

Yes but you need to make sure that the Synergy is on the correct settings. Details are on there website.

If you still have the Bosch MAF then select the Bosch settings (1 to 5) The Pierburgh setting (6 to10) is so you can use a cheaper Pierburgh MAF should the Bosch MAF fail.

These synergy 1& 2 have been known to make the HPFP leak after a time, quite a few R40 owners have found out to their cost using one, we therefore opt for the 160 upgrade, the synergy is a tool that tricks the ECU, and therefore over fuels the car, would never use one on my cars my opinion only each to there own.

thanks for the heads up Arctic will not be fitted yet got issues to sort out first struggling to accelerate when you try to push it a little more starts to diesel knock then plumes of black smoke let of the go peddle a little and no smoke any ideas ??

Take a look at the intercooler hose, for split or if it is weak, maybe porous sticky etc, also if not already done clean out the EGR, and manifold and the MAP sensor which needs to be removed if cleaning the manifold,

all new hoses egr blanked manifold cleaned out new map sensor about two weeks ago no difference at all

I agree with Arctic. Overfueling/overboosting an engine seems like a bad idea to me. Doing that to a sick engine seems like a really bad idea.

agree with all the above, wont be any boxes of tricks added until i get the engine issue sorted hopefully will find out more tomorrow will let ya know how it goes
