Just something that may help someone in the future
2weeks ago my spare fob stopped working (duff battery), replaced batteries and tried to sync fob. Now mine is a 2000 DHSE and supposed to sync by putting key in ignition barrel ( my other fob does no trouble). Fob wouldn't sync. Found in all my paper work an instruction sheet from Stonelake Land Rover dealers to sync and remobilise the car.
As follows; Ensure all windows and doors closed
Enter EKA code ( found buy opening car with other fob worked the same)
Start car and run engine for 10 secs
Stop engine get out and close door
Place key in lock press lock button on fob and hold, turn key to lock position and hold for 7secs
Return to upright position and release button
Repeat procedure but with unlock button but turning to unlock position
Return to upright remove key and Voila works OK
I have used the fob for a week just to make sure and been fine so far.
