The boomslang looms are taking a bit of heat reliability wise, will be trying to talk nicely to my Bro in law, although he's usually flat to the mat.
earplugs ... aii,I dont intend to have a visible stereo in her, but maybe a hidden mp3 or bluetooth connection, will make sure it can be cranked to 11

I personally would not recommend a boomslang loom. I bought one for my 110, began to modify it to go back to the battery and the more I looked at it and began to alter it the more I came to the conclusion it was a complete waste of time and money and I would have been better off buying the fittings and making my own loom from scratch. Nothing about it felt particularly good quality, either the parts or the workmanship, and it is still sat half modified in the garage. If you do not know much about vehicle and are not particularly bothered about a tidy or relatively original looking/style job it will probably just about do, but I certainly could not work out how to fit it in what I would consider to be an acceptable manner and mine is a long way from a show vehicle.

The easiest / cheapest fix for the headlights is to leave 90% alone and just put fused relays near the headlights switched by the old headlight wires, take the bulb supply off the batt - OK as these are fused, and jobs done.

Re alternator, I thin the A127 is a better alternator, the regulators and brushes are easy to change and its a 75amp unit, BUT, they come left and right hand and it maters to get the right one. Alternators have a much higher rev limit - I seem to recall 20,000 rpm? so you can run them at 3 or 4x engine speed. This allows you to fit a smaller pulley on the alternator and get charging at idle. My £50 e-bay alternator came with a very neat ally small pully and its putting out over14v at idle on the Perkins that idles at a few 100 revs. Even if you don't need 75A you do need 20-30amps at low revs and the bigger unit will do this. The a127s are common on Massey tractors so you can get them cheap.

Few minutes work to swap A127 LH to RH or vicde versa.

Great alternators.

yep thats a gimme @rob1miles slapped a couple or RH A127's in my basket there now cheers, checking on shipping to NI from them both to see which one I want, have added the relays too but they're currently out of stock, its more just to remind me cause I need a shed loads of electrical stuff and I can get it Wholesale.

Havent got near Gurty since getting the engine out, dogs just had the snip and running around causing havoc with his lampshade, its absolute chaos, 3 days, seriously, not sure I'll make it lol
