Would a 1990 def 90 only have a top swivel bush with no bush or race where the bottom pin would sit. I can't find a rebuild kit that includes a bottom pin, bush and bearing.

Thanks

it would have a pin and bust at the top 606666 taper bearing at the bottom, you dont need tto undo the bottom pin so leave it as is to change swivel bushes and bearings, google da2211

As James has said... pin and bush at top, with a pin and (taper) bearing at bottom. Later models had the bearing arrangement top and bottom.

My swivels were completely shot, both sides (heavily pitted, with disintegrated seals and accompanying leaks), so I replaced everything from scratch. Had a nightmare trying to remove the lower pin as it had rusted solid in the housing! One of those jobs that can be time consuming and messy to do, but is well worth the effort long-term.

Having ordered the latter-type (bearing-bearing) overhaul kit in error first time around, this is something I wondered, too!

I'm not 100% on this, BUT provided the swivel balls are the same spec across all models - for early-type (upper pin-bush & lower pin-bearing set-up), the top pin is of larger diameter to accommodate the Railko bush than the bottom pin - then I see no reason why not. Wish I'd paid it more attention now, whilst everything was in pieces and I had the relevant parts to hand!
