Have just stripped both front hubs and removed n/s swivel ball and shaft to find that some areas are pitted. Have picked up a new seal and some one shot grease. Will the swivel ball still need replacing or might I get away with flatening any sharp edges with a light rub down with wet and dry - replacements are bloomin' expensive!!

Clean the surfaces up and fill the pitted area with body filler. Rub it down and it should last for years, especially with one shot.

I dont seem to have that problem.... for some reason, mine doesnt have the metal ones..
I've been told it probably has been upgraded at some point and my swivel balls are some kind of plastic? to avoid the pitting?

fok knows.

not plastic - ptfe coated.

according to MHM they are not plastic (to me they look like plastic), they are coated in something like you have on the fry pans, to avoid the pitting and all that.

Paddocks are advertising 2nd hand swivels for £25 each So I bought a pair for the 90 last week, and they appear to have sent me brand noo Teflon coated swivels instead. Unless they are reconditioned?? and teflon coated.
