What you should do is (assuming RHD)

Turn the steering until the steering box is bang on the centre position...some can be set with a pin in a slot in the arm. Adjust the LH wheel to the correct alignment position using the front drag link. Then adjust the RH wheel to the correct alignment using the rear tie rod.
:)

This is eggsactly what the tracking place should have done!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Most tyre places these days have a bit of a flap when they see a 4x4. I ended up doing mine myself.
I go where I know peeps and they know me. I tend to get discount and the odd freeby. My place has been doing my Landies for 17 years. no complaints yet!
But you may well be right. Think it depends on the area. there are a heck of a lot of 4x4s round ere!

The only guy I trusted to do mine left the garage, and the new guy doesn't seem all that confident. Will need to check it again soon when I fit the new bars.

I hate it when trusted people move on. My MOT testing station nearly changed hands.:eek::eek:
Best of luck with it once the bars are done!:)

It was a shame as he had built up quite a fan base in the local car scene. But he moved onto better things which I can't blame him for. And thank you, should hopefully be a little more settled.

hi I use a string line attached to my tow bare and puled tight across the centre of the wheel from the back to the front, as the tracking is '-0'- 10' +/- 10' its easy to do as can be done as long as it on level ground
