As promised here is where i'm up to with my wolf 90 rebuild.
I bought this nineteen years ago from the first original owner of ten years with 100,000 miles on the clock.
Four of these were built in 1989 as a prototype for trials with the MOD by special vehicles division.
They were finished in nato green paint and FFR soft tops and surprisingly they had the 2.5 DT engine
with LT77S gearbox's.
The MOD never used the 2.5 DT and is probably why they didn't take delivery of them, so they sat in the
yard unregistered till June 1990 when they were given the EAC registration and sold to newly opened
Torver Land rover in Cumbria.
Mine was bought by a gentleman who kept it as it left the factory, and serviced religiously by Kentdale Land rover in Kendal.
Upon my purchase i wasn't keen on the nato paint, so i decided to change its colour to Epsom green and boy did it look good!!!
I had loads of picture of our travels all over England as my daily driver for eighteen years with the mileage
now showing 320,000, but my old lap top gave up the will to live and i have not been able to recover them as yet.
As you can see now, i have changed the colour to black with a civilian Exmoor trim soft top and boost alloy wheels.
The chassis is a new Richards galvanised 200 TDI with engine mounts for 300 TDI to LT77 box.
The bulkhead is also a galvanised re manufactured item so the Land rover should see me out or until we
are forced into electric Scalextric porta potty's...
I hope to have it finished before the winter hits us and will keep this thread updated with the progress...

I have prepared and painted every panel on the driveway as i cannot get in the garage due to other project and yes its a 190 E 2.0 auto as my daily drive for now!

Anyway had time today to finally get my engine running before i put the wings and front end on.
Before it came off the road last year, the starter motor was always sluggish on first start in the morning, so fitted the as new remanufactured Bosch item i bought last week.
So feeling confident i turned the key and lo and behold same sluggish turning over, Hmmm cleaned the earth contacts and added another earth cable from the chassis to the
starter motor housing and put the battery on fast charge, still sluggish.
Tested the battery and its 12.2 volts but seems not to have much staying power so more spending on a new one and hopefully hear it running soon before i proceed...

New Varta 020 110AH 920CCA on order and a new 300tdi radiator and intercooler pack to replace the modified TD5 setup i had on before starting the rebuild.
I cant bear to look at the receipts yet, but still need quick release steering wheel, sound proofing, new Hardura matting kit, Microwave alarm, cuddly toy ect ect.
You get the picture...

ITS ALIVE.
Finally after a disappointing few weeks and another 1k up the chute it fired up first click, i say first click but there was a problem.
I was in Hospital for six weeks last year due to an injury and asked a friend to take the engine out to keep the strip down going till i was back home.
When he came to see me one evening he mysteriously had two front teeth missing and said the engine had swung in his face.
What he failed to tell me was he also dropped the engine on its side
and had cracked the alternator casing and subsequently the pulley was solid.
I never gave this much thought till
today after charging the new battery and had the same sluggish turning over.
I was thinking the pump had slipped until i had a brain fart and took the pulley belt off and it fired first click.
So today's moral is to check the simple things before splashing the cash on ever increasing new parts...

new BP 300tdi rad pack £285
new starter motor £80
New battery £120
Steve parker extended oil cooler pipes £100
Coolant and inter cooler pipes £100
Plus a load more bits and pieces to progress the build...

New 100amp alternator just arrived and the rain has stoppered, Lets get it on....

He will be my daily once again when finished but light duties only this time, collecting various cars from around the country and trips to the wild with my dog.
Going to make him more comfortable to be in with soundproof insulation and Hardura matting system, not that i'm used to frivolities like this but thinking of long term
and passenger comfort.
Security wise i'm thinking Pedal lock, Removable steering wheel, Manual fuel cut off, Microwave alarm, Key pad ignition and GPS Tracker.
And at home i live in a cul de sac with locked gates on my drive so reasonably confident it wont go missing from home.
Now the engine is running i can get on with building the front up, wings are painted along with new sills and the front panel so more pictures to come soon.
