L322 Swirl Flaps

Can I assume that the BMW 3.0 Diesel engine fitted to the Range Rover has the same swirl flap disintegration issues as when it's fitted to a BMW?

If so then I think I'll be doing the blanking plate mod...

I think its a fair bet as some one else on here is replacing their engine due to metal going into the cylinders and making it go bang

if fitted just remove inlet to inspect condition if good shouldn't cause any problems

Thanks. I know that BMW modded the swirl flaps during the lifetime of the engine to reduce the issue but I'll take a look and see if it's already been done

Hi no swirl flaps fitted on the l322 td6 diesel.

Oh that is interesting. So Land Rover decided (sensibly) that they are not worth having unlike BMW.

That explains why they are not such an issue on the Range Rover.
