hello All, first posting here so hopefully I won't make any clamatous
errors and get flamed to death.
Im on the prowl for ideas really. For some reason my 1989 90 has
developed 2 odd faults.
Firstly when I turn off the ignition the engine keeps running. Know I
know why the previous owner fitted a kill switch to the fuel pump
solenoid. This seems to stay live even when the key is removed. I have
tried fitting a new ignition switch but this has not helped. I have a
feeling it may be to do with the starter relay itself or the wiring to
the started reley. Has anyone ever had a similar problem, if so how did
you resolve it. Also does anyone know whether needing the kill switch
to stop the engine constitutes a failure as far as the MOT is
concerned.
Secondly, deffo MOT failure this, I seem to have a cross connection
between my right indicator and my sidelights. When I turn on my right
indicator my sidelights (both sides) flash too; and when I turn on the
sidelights the right indicators, front, side and back come on
permanetly.
I've tried tracing cables but I cant figure this one. Where are the key
earth points for these circuits, could a duff relay cause this? Anyone
got a good fault finding sequence I can try.
heyyylllpppp! Failing any advice does anyone know a good auto
electrician specialising in Landys near Staines Middx
TIA, Paul
