Good morning All,
I have just bought (yesterday) a 1988 Defender 90 200Tdi with new MOT, 3" suspension rise, snorkel, sliders etc, plus BF mud tyres.
Driving my beastie (now called Alexandria) home, she seems, from time to time, to sway...this was, to say the least, most disconcerting.
My question is...why? Could this be because she has mud boots on, or could it be due to the winds, or something else?

Your candid thoughts and suggestions will be gratefully received.

Kind regards,

Julian.

thanks Maz,
Being a complete mechanical numpty (can fly a small plane but not fix it) please explain in simple (very, very) terms what a drop-arm is, what it looks like, and where to find it?
Thanks.

drivers side just by front wheels the bit that comes forwards looks like this

thank you all for your comments...I'll check the drop arm tomorrow in the daylight...hopefully the wind will die down as well (not sprout-related)

Julian.

Bye bye...I am off playing in Alexandria on Sunday at Bunny Lane, near Romsey...should be fun!!!!!

Have a good weekend and thanks again for your help.

Just a quick update...I located the drop arm and, having decided it looked too complicated, decided to check tyre pressures...all wheels were at different pressures...amazing transformation into non-swaying driving!!!!
Thank you to all of you for your help and advice...more questions will follow as time goes on.
