swapping from disco 3.9v8 to 2.5 rr

hiya,i,m currently looking at changing me car and having owned 3 disco 1,s i fancy a change.i,m currently driving a 1998 3.9v8 on lpg ans i,ve spotted a mint 2.5dhse range rover with 100,000 on the clocks last owner for 7 years,what can i expect?i.m reading their a little slow off the mark so i,m wondering am i going to be a little dissapointed.i ran a 1998 300tdi and to be honest it bored my brains out so foooked it off for another v8.is the bmw diesel similar in power to the tdi or is there a little more poke?problem is the rr is 300miles away so test driving it is a nogo.what do you think.cheers craig

Rangerovers are heavy anyway and the BMW 2.5 diesel is no fireball. By the sounds of it you wouldnt keep it long.
