hi all,
if i was to change my suspension (springs and shocks) on my 300 tdi would oem parts or after market hd kit be the better option? i want to keep the truck at standard height. i do go green laning and do a bit of towingbut its mainly used on road.
cheers
jimbo!

I personally favour Old Man Emu. You can get springs of the same 'rate/poundage' as standard LR ones. There shocks are pretty good too, but it is expensive kit.

I would not go for a HD kit as you put it unless you are carrying a load or towing most of the time, as stiffer springs but with standard free length will give you a very firm ride.

Overall your best option would be to fit a good shock absorber all round (guess which make I'd recommend :) ) and get all the chassis bushes changed. This will improve the ride/handling no end.

How do you expect to raise the Disco (to stop it bottoming) without also extending brake lines? It's one of the first things to do when lifting (suspension or body) and is just simply necessary, not really an option for your 'extreme' off-roading.

Any pics of you 'extreme' off-roading?
