Hi guys
I am looking for the best budget 2 inch lift kit for a 99 disco 2 td5. There seems
To be a lot of conflicting info on wether I need to fit extended
Brake lines or change other components. What are the max
Diameter tyres I can fit with a 2 inch lift and without any body
Mods.
Any help would be awesome cheers guys. I bet this info is already
On the site somewhere but I haven't found it yet.
Ta very much in advance

I have just started green lane driving around the south Oxfordshire area and many of the tracks are rutted to the point where the diffs and bumpers were catching.

a suspension lift won't stop your diffs catching unless you are in a freelander, and iff they are that rutted you have to ask weather you should be driving them at all! (causing more damage and getting them shut down due to inappropriate use,

the cheapest rout isn't the way you should be looking at it, for instance cheap springs will need replacing a lot quicker than good springs therefor costing you more in the long run

you should fit extended brake hoses as over stretching them can leave you stuck on a lane without brakes and very few recovery firms will get you off a greenlane

not sure about tyre size but i would hazard a guess it will be 265/75R16

Thanks for your reply. The ruts seemed to be caused mainly by tractors looking at the marks but yes I agreed we must be careful in our use of these lanes. I have spent the last three weeks back and forth to the local council studying the definitive maps and the documentation on the use of byways in my area.
So a break line extension is a must. So am I right in thinking that the only way to improve diff ground clearance is to fit large diameter tyres but this would require some body mods too!

unless you plan on fitting portal axles the only way to gain diff clearance is larger tyres yes
