Suspension Knocking - Worn bushes ?

I like how from the pictures of the bomb it shows signs of being badly handled. You'd think they'd be careful with that much boomboom. Rather than leave it looking like a 90 year old woman drove it through a car park.

well.... Time to resurrect one of my old threads...

Nothing too serious ! lol

just still an issue with a knocking / clunking noise with the car

have changed both left and right;

suspension struts, lower arms, upper arms and track rod ends..

but im still getting the same Clunk / Knock when hitting pot holes or any bumpy road surfaces.

im a bit stumped on what to try next ? don't get me wrong, some of the bushes were worn and needed replacing but the sound was still present

it seems to be coming from the driver side wheel area for sure, but its hard to tell exactly.. its a loud clunk that can be heard through the cars chassis whilst driving.

i was thinking possibly engine mounts ? as the TD6 uses hydraulic / actuator controlled mounts, if they were to fail or the actuator wasn't working could that cause the noise ?

or anything i have missed ??

would be glad of any help as im rather stumped at the moment :(

cheers guys
:)

Curve ball, CATCH.......

Brake calipers can make noises like worn AR drop link.
Mine was/still is making noise, replaced the seperate lower ball joints that bolt to hub, still the bloody same. Mind you, i only paid £24 (inc. Delivery to balmy scotland)the pair so they're prob chinese crap.
Arnotts (USA) do a bag kit you can fit to your own shocks, which includes an improved TOP bearing, improved ride (allegedly).

Hi There,

Yes finally sorted it.

Turned out to be the lower ball joint that connects to the hub, it is secured using two Allen bolts. A right bugger to change !

I now have completely new bushes and suspension struts on the front end
