hi I have a problem with my range roverL322 year 2003.The front of the vehicle is much too high at850mm with the rear @760mm .There are no lights on the suspension controls so I can neither raise or lower the vehicle which has maintained this position for the last few days .I have a DELPHI DS 1 diagnostic machine which is showing a CAN-LINE ERROR could anyone help please

You'll need a Diagnostic Device capable of talking to LR products....

LR use their own protocols and as such an OBD device will be of little use....

Do you have any lights on the height controls at all??

The L322 has two fault modes - Hard and Soft....Hard Fault is no lights at all...soft fault is the Standard height and the Hold Switch light...

Put your location in your profile, there may be someone close by with LR specific gear who can plug in and see what codes are stored and perform an EAS calibration for you...

My guess is a height sensor out of whack if it is that far out of calibration...

Heights should be as follows:

Thanks for the response much appreciated .I have no lights on controls,I will check height sensors again in the morning . I am from the stoke on trent area.

No Lights at all indicates it is in hard fault - that usually occurs when either it can't produce enough air to maintain ride height, or the system cannot determine the ride height due to a dicky height sensor...

I had similar when one of my rear sensors was full of water following a large bout of heavy rain and standing water....

Time to plug it into diagnostics (RSW All Comms, Faultmate, Bearmach Hawkeye, Testbook, Snap-on Solus, Gap Diagnostics IIDTool, Autologic et al) and see what codes are logged.

It is possible....

Drivers side behind the inner wheel arch against the bulkhead is the Cross Link valve....it is possible to loosen the pipe unions leading to each bag to release air - but you will have to be very careful and have the vehicle securely supported to prevent it crashing down on you should you overly undo the pipe connection....so I would advise against it generally.

The usual way to depress. the system is via diagnostics....

Search a video on Youtube by a user called malafaxdand (Storey Wilson - a true legend) and look for one where he is changing the front air strut - he details the cross link valve in his video.

Caution - if you let the air out to reduce ride height, the system may just put it all back again.....the height sensor maybe giving the ECU the wrong height information, so when you let the air out and drop the car, the system will only make it rise back up again - that is bearing in mind it has the air to do so....

Diagnostics is the way forward once you know what faults are logged, it will give you an idea what direction to take!
