hi all came out today to find my p38 had dropped on the rivers side rear only started it up and went up straight away and drove without fault but when left a while drops on this corner only. am abit confused as thought the car will try to self level if there is a leak so the car stays at the same height all round all be it lower??? but anyway wont bore you all thats it basically so any ideas would be great thanks

hi you have prob got a leak on the air bag on the side that is dropping down it could last months like it or it could drop you in the **** in a few days time a new bag is only £60 and can be fitted in about 40 mins

I replaced all air suspensiin bags but had a minor leak on the front drivers side where the pipe goes into the top and overnight the whole car would drop a bit.

After trying to fix and naking it wirse (pipe is now scored and needs chopping but is already quite short) it now drops pretty quickly just on that front side. I guess given time it will level itself out. Hopefully fixing today...

Most likely the sensor for that corner or it's connector giving a poor reading. The EAS thinks that corner is high due to the sensor, so lowers it.:D

I think you've answered yer own question there .. you already KNEW you had a leak on THAT corner .... & as Data says ...Sensor reading is "Out" .. did you re-calibrate yer WHOLE suspension when you fitted yer new bags ????

If yer didn't then THAT corner will/was riding "High" & is dropping to the level of the lowest sensor. When you re-calibrate it go find a "Garage Ramp" (the type that raises up so you can get under it) .. they are ALWAYS perfectly level & you can re-calibrate EXACTLY (as per RAVE) on a LEVEL SURFACE

i will check for a leak on the pipework then for that bag as has already had a new bag fitted so guess may not have been done probably

Did you actually attempted yourself a recalibration ?
I'm sorry but there's no need to recalibrate when you replace the airsprings. Only if you fit a new height sensor (as per Rave).

Hello therte I have now changed all 4 air bags for new airbags an i am still getting all my lights flashing up on the height monitor, I'[ve tried connecting my laptop to the car and it say:::

0: Engine speed fault
1: Vehicle speed fault
2: Pressure Signal constantly high
0: FL Valve Stuck open
1: FR valve stuck open
2: RL valve stuck open
3: RR valve stuck open
4: Inlet valve stuck open
5: Exhaust valve stuck open
6: FB:64 Hidden
7: FB128 Hidden
0: FL valve stuck close
1: FR valve stuck close
2: RL valve stuck close
3: RR valve stuck close
5: Exhaust valve stuck close

Do you know what the problem miught be ...? as i need to get this sortd as I am tired of people asking me whats wrong with my car as sometimes the suspension at the fron is high and the back is low or vices versa.

If only one corner is dropping it is unlikely to be a leak as the EAS would continually try to self level to compensate so the whole car would go down. The sensor is the most likely culprit.

Clear all that lot and reset system. The nature of the faults says they cannot be correct, you cannot have valves stuck open and shut at the same time. Start from that point and work through as per instructions on Storey Wilsons site.

ive just put mine on the laptop and had almost the same readings as you cleared them drove round the block came back and read nothing took it out again came back got loads of really odd readings again cleared and done the above a couple of times and have stayed clear but pump is still running not running running etc and will have to see if has dropped on rr again in the morning also cleaned the connection to rr height sensor any other ideas as seems to work fine apart from the drop and the pump running alot ?

The reading displayed in Message 11 above are erroneous as they're displayed when the application loses synch with the ECU, and as are informative as a blank sheet of paper.

When you use this software you need to make sure that there is a continuous stream of FF displayed in the window labelled RX before and after making request such as reading faults, profile heights etc.

You may want to try this again.

Suspension drop on driver side rear ? Tell us the condition of your center exhaust ?

Very common that the exhaust is dead and burns the air lines that goes over the rear crossmember to :
-the driver side (RHD) rear airspring
-the EAS tank reservoir

Well the EAS Pump and Valve block is on the left hand side of the vehicle on a RHD car so it makes sense to have the reservoir on the same side, but it is British engineering so...
