I am looking to change my suspension and shock absorbers on my 2003 Defender 110 TD5. They are currently the factory fitted originals. I do mostly road driving and want to make the ride more comfortable for my family and less like being thrown around on a speedboat over the smallest bump. Has anyone fitted new suspension that has made the ride smoother?

Usually the recommendation is the factory suspension. Other setups tend to be harder and bouncier. And the factory setup gives the best all around ride quality.
It’s a tall 4x4 with a beam axle Suspension setup it is never going to compare with even a saloon from the same era as the design (early 70’s) let alone a modern car.
