Hi,

I've not changed mine yet but I,ve read on other threads that it's less than an hour each and its a pretty straight forward job.

hello mate you could try island 4x4 , not bad prices, i have encountered very few problems changing them in the past , i personally think they are easier than the classic

Yep Island 4x4 are really good and cheap -

you need to buy the retaining pins 2 per spring about a quid each, they don't come with the new spring, the fronts are different to the rears. If you buy new ones to start with, removing the old springs is a lot easier. The old pins usually rust into the aluminium base of the original springs so just use a cold chisel and snap them off flush with the spring - dead easy at the back - a little fiddly at the front because you need a chisel about a foot long.

Other than that it will take you almost as long to jack the car up and make it secure as it does to change the springs - its that easy

Hi,
I was interested in the responses suggesting changing the suspension air bags was easy as I'll probably need to do this in the near future on my P38. A couple of questions arise though:
1. What about releasing the pressure in the air suspension system first?
2. Do you need to have the suspension re-calibrated as you do after changing the height sensors?

Thanks,

hello mate you dont need to worry about your height sensors just changing the air bags will have absolutely no effect on them whatsoever .
as for the air already in the system you could try the way i did it by first lowering the suspension to the lowest setting then open the tailgate to stop the system trying to self level , you can then jack it up and start to change them , the small amount of air in the system is easily released when you disconnect the pipe i hope this helps.

It may be childish, but I really enjoy "knifing" the old air springs when I change them.;)
