Measure the hsight from ctr wheel to the underside of wheelarch.


Std is 473mm +- 15mm .

then set the vehicle so that it achieves that measurement. whatever the sensors need to be.

Can anyone tell if there is a default value for these?
As @neilly said, there doesn't seem to be a default value for reading the rear suspension on a code reader but there is a default value given in RAVE for the actual measurement:
Nominal height from hub centre to wheel arch (not liner) taken with vehicle at its unladen weight. 473 ± 15 mm (18.6 ± 0.6 in)
 
Guys, when I was replacing the top clips on the new bags, the new clips seemed a bit loose, and not really serving any purpose :eek:. I've just checked the part number of the ones that LRDirect sent to me, and it's ANR1220, so they are the right ones. I'm worried now as I don't feel comfortable knowing that the clips seemed pointless. Are they meant to be a tight fit, or is there a fair amount of play in them? o_O
 
Regarding your securing clips, I didn't do the job myself, I'm gettin' a bit long in the tooth to start scrambling about under a Disco these days so the local garage did it for me. Here's a picture from RAVE which does show how the clips should be fitted. I presume from the picture that they would be quite tight.

Try pulling them off and if they slide off with no resistance then there is something wrong. I had to do a fair bit of cleaning to get rid of rust and crud, before the pins pushed through enough to get them on.

The clips I was supplied are like these.

They do fit, and there is slight resistance when sliding then on to the air bag locating posts, but once on, they are really easy to spin. I assumed that they would be a tight fit, and once on, wouldn't move around at all.

Did you go and look at the way they were fitted on the discovery2 website page, there is a good photo, from my POV I cannot see them being loose if fitted like that.
I thnk the rave manual photo may show an older version of the clip, or is a mistake.

Yes. I made sure they were fitted the same way as the photo on that site. Maybe it's nothing to worry about, and it's just me. :rolleyes:

Not a happy bunny :eek: The entire back of my Disco is now dropping when left for a couple of hours. Not right to the stops, but enough to be noticeable. I've checked all the connectors, and they are all good, can't hear any leaks, and they pump up fine when the engine is on.
I'm seriously considering just binning the air system and putting coils on now as I don't do any towing, and never carry on serious loads in the back.

Update to this issue. I've just connected the Nanocom back in to the car to try doing an SLS calibration and I've discovered that using the Nanocom, I can't get it lower the right side of the car. It lowers and raises the left perfectly fine. So, I'm thinking that something has happened to the sensor while I've been swapping the bags.
No faults are showing on the Nanocom.
I seem to remember reading somewhere on here something about disconnecting the battery, jacking the car to about the normal ride height, then reconnecting the battery, or have I just made this up? :eek:
 
Didn't know the Nanocom could do this, but in the SLABS section, it's possible to set the exact values of the rear air suspension that you want, store the settings and it auto adjusts the air bags to match the inputted values. Anyway, I've just tried to set mine to 150 / 150 and it's reporting that it's unable to reach the target heights. Does this mean that the height sensors are maybe knackered, or have they just lost their way and can't remember which way is up anymore?
 
Hi, With Nanocom you need the path Slabs abs/utility/sls height calibration - then raise/lower each then Store heights. It's usually folks not storing the heights after making the adjustment that fools them.

just done my ride heights on autologic set hight via tape measure and not resisted values ,set as per logic and turned off ignition to double ensure stored settings ,,nearside reads 168 offside reads 157 car perfectly level :D this was done to lift rear as i fitted new sensors after lowering back to ride hight after orm was used and sensors didn't want to play
