I guess this is a common problem, I have a landy 90 with some poor heating issues. Has anyone any experience or suggestions for supplemental heating, fan heaters etc, maybe running of the cigarette unit?

none of those plug in heaters are particularity effective, if you want real heat it's either a hat or a FBH

have you done all of the usual tricks to get the heating to work ? - depender heating isn't as bad as it's made out to be

I have a Pacet 400w 12v ceramic heater. I had it in my previous landy and after the eberspacher that I was meant to be getting fell through, I have fitted it to my current landy. It is capable of defrosting my whole windscreen inside and out in about 3-5 mins. It will also heat up the passenger area in the same time providing I keep the doors shut. I have it mounted on the wooden bulkhead behind my second row seats.

It's not ideal but it will do for now until I find an eberspacher at a decent price. It cannot be connected via a cigarette socket though as it will melt it in seconds.

i bet ya dont have that and your water boiler running at the same time :)

must admit my landy water boiler is probably my fav "upgrade"
I have tried it. The leccy heater loses a lot of power when the urn is on.

I tend to use the leccy heater for the first 5 mins of driving from initial start up (basically until I start getting warm air out the heaters). Then I turn it off and turn the urn on. During the really cold weather I did have to flick the leccy heater on a couple of times when I was idling while attending breakdowns. TD5 heaters soon lose their heat when you aren't moving (Even with a rad muff fitted:eek:).

I swear half our guys were deliberately getting stuck or breaking down just so the 'burger van' as they called it would come around and get em warmed up and mobile again.:D:D:D
