I have a problem with the sunroof on my freelander (2003) I can open the roof fine, but when it comes to closeing it it closes on a slant, therefore it does not close properly and has to be prised down into place.
Is it a simple problem? How long will it take.

Cheers,
Marky Mark

The sunroof mech is total **** and even if you find the fault it's not worth repairing it will for sure just break again, get it closed and remove the fuse.

I managed to close mine, then removed the fuse and put silicon on the outside closing it solidly. Is waterproof now ...... (Having aircon and windows still going down no real need for a sunroof).

Hi WindyG,

This is the first time I see an id. picture of a member as his avatar ???:D:D:D

Pulled the fuse out on mine too. Fuse 12 under the steering wheel if I remember correctly.

So what is the problem here? Is it a cable? Runners or sliders?

I have the same issue... Not prepared to pay loads to fix it as i don't ever use it, tailgate and A/C for me, but someone used it one day and it wouldn't close... seems to be trying to on the left side but drivers side needs a bit of pushing!!

Cheap fixes / mechanics in Lincolnshire / Humberside appreciated.

All of it at some point.
They just arn't worth repairing, just push yours shut and remove the fuse so no one can open it, glad I did as my little girl pressed it the other day trying to find the window switch.
