sunroof problem

hello

any ideas on this problem??
sunroof wont open it tilts about 1/2 inch then stops and dont silde open, motor,switch or runners?

its on a 5 door R reg

Had the same problem, most probably one of two things
1:The slider that is stuck in the runners.(runners stuffed)
2:The slider cable from the motor is broken.
On mine it was both.
I could hear the motor running after it tilted and it sound like it was slipping over the gears in the motor.

just took the motor out and thats running fine so think it is one of the others

on these it just tilts and slides back tilting ???? i did think it was tilt and slide away inside roof.

did you fix yours?? or replace the whole lot??

Had same problem before we got shot of Freelander. If most likely slider/runners buggered (search should find many others with problem and fiddly fixes) also risk it may get stuck and can't close properly. Unless any warranty involved may be best to shut properly and take out fuse to stop accidental operation of switch.

i aint paying that hippo only cost me £850 lol

I just fixed it, went to the scrap yard and bought the runners and cable both in very good condition as it was from a alomost new crashed car. To fix aint that difficult, on the Rave CD it explain the whole lot.
