Sunroof Problem 300tdi

Hi,

I have a hinge problem with my 300tdi sunroof and would really appreciate some help or assistance.

When the sunroof is tilted or fully open it rattles like stink when going over our delightful uneven and potholed road surfaces. From what I can see it’s the nearside hinge assembly that is causing the problem, it’s the part that attaches the glass of the sunroof to the main horizontal rail. it looks like the hinge sits on a small plastic collar which helps it open and close but the collar looks like its is missing.

If anyone has this part or could help me repair it I would be willing to pay. I live in Oxfordshire.

I also plan to remove the sunroof to reseal everything so any help here would alo be appreciated.

Sunroofs do bounce when fully open and and can make a knocking noise, the 'hinge' has nylon runners/rollers and a bush where it slides in the slot of the glass part of the hinge, they break up so that may be your problem, one has broken and now missing from my rear sunroof but as I never use the sunroofs it's not a problem for me.
Worse case I would think is that the glass would not close down onto the seal so caursing a leak.
The individual parts are not available, it's a replacement track or fitting a good s/h sunroof I think.
