Sunroof Prob

Hi there, anybody have any clues as to what would be the cause of sunroof not working? the button on centre console doesnt operate it, when depressed either way, it says "sunroof not set" & occasionally you hear the motor whirring within the light mounting overhead, ive removed the light cluster & can manually open & close it with the key...
